Cerezo Osaka manager Levir Culpi has confirmed there is interest in young attacking midfielder Takashi Inui, following reports he's set for a summer transfer to Germany.
Japanese website Nikkan Sports has reported the 23-year-old, who has scored four goals in this season's AFC Champions League, is likely to move to Schalke 04 or FC Cologne.
Both clubs already feature Japanese players, Atsudo Uchida at Schalke, and Tomoaki Makino at Cologne.
Brazilian boss Culpi said: "There are many [European] clubs interested in Inui. He will leave as soon as a deal is done, so I am already giving chances to other players."
Inui is a product of the prestigious Yasu High School and played for Yokohama F. Marinos before transferring to Cerezo in 2008.
The 23-year-old has been capped three times for Japan's senior national team.
